Nuclear Engines
Travel Time
Following on from the previous week where we discovered potential benefits of a nuclear engine, we found that the use of nuclear engine on our spaceship could potentially bring us to Mars in only about 45 days. This was mentioned in quite a few sources, but most are saying that it is still being tested so we are making an assumption that in the future, nuclear engines will be able to help us to travel from Earth to Mars in 45 days.

Discussions
At the end of the week, we had discussions of the ideas that could work as a solution to the problems in the brainstorm. Each member presented their findings in detail to the group and talked through which solution would be the best, or how we could merge some of the ideas together for a better final decision. We decided finally the solutions for most of the problems while some other still require research for better options, such as food, water, oxygen problems, etc.
Final Solutions
As shown in Figure 2, the final solutions are:
Gravity
Using a centrifuge to ensure astronaut health in space, and using metal plates and a centrifuge on Mars as a way to allow crew members to adapt to Mars' low gravity.
Ship
Using a Nuclear Rocket to reduce travel time, which has more benefits than the potential risk of radiation. However, more research is needed.
Psychological
Ruling out the idea of a coma, using C.O.N.N.E.C.T. and other principles to maintain crew collaboration and reduce tensions during the mission.
Solar Radiation
Using Silica Aerogel for Insulation, in Base and Space Suits. Furthermore, using vests to reduce solar radiation when outside, and other forms of shielding inside the base.
